| So.....why do we do this? 1. We enjoy our horses. Most of us consider being a cavalryman the ultimate step in doing something with our horse that is completely unique. 2. We love American history. Any child can sit in a classroom and read in a textbook about the Civil War. Likewise any adult and sit in their home and watch a special on the history channel. But for someone to see it with their own eyes brings a reality to it. We do this to truly let people experience what it would have looked like, sounded like, and even smelled like in the 1860's. 3. We do this to remember, honor and commemorate our American ancestors. 4. Most of all, we do it because it is fun!! This is a hobby; we wouldn't do it if it wasn't! |
